Companion Dog Training School offers classes for every dog from seven week old puppies on up. For those who wish to take their pets beyond the basics, and perhaps go on to obedience competion, there are transition and advanced classes. Utilizing positive motivation techniques, you will learn to train your dog while having fun and creating a unique human-canine bond.For everyone's protection, it is imperative that all dogs who attend class are fully vaccinated by their veterinarians. Owners must be able to supply either a vaccination record or a letter from their veterinarian indicating that the dog is current on all vaccinations. |

Puppy Classes

| Puppy classes, which are open to puppies 7 to 12 weeks of age, offer you a unique opportunity to socialize your puppy with other puppies and people, as well as train your puppy. This socialization/play is essential to your puppys social development as it teaches the pup appropriate behavior with other dogs and people. |

Beginner Classes |

Beginning obedience classes are for dogs over 12 weeks of age. The same exercises are taught to both the puppy and beginner classes, with the exception of the puppy socialization/play. Our goals for these classes are: To teach owners how to work with, motivate, and train their dogs To help owners understand canine behavior and deal with common issues such as biting, mouthing, jumping up, chewing, digging, and house training |
| In both puppy and beginner class, the following behaviors are taught:
Attention to owner Come when called Sit, (lie) down, stay Walk on leash without pulling Heeling will be introduced to those wanting to try competition obedience Stand for exam (useful for when visiting the veterinarian or when being groomed) Sit still while being petted by a stranger As of January, 2007, Puppy classes are offered at: - 6:30 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday evenings - 11:00 a.m. on Wednesdays
- 7:30 p.m.on Monday and Tuesday evenings - 10 a.m. on Wednesday mornings
If you are interested in taking a puppy or beginner class, come to one of our orientation sessions any Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. This 90 minute session will provide you with valuable information on how to raise and deal with your new canine companion and further acquaint you with our training classes. The orientation session is free of charge. At the end of the orientation session, you may decide whether the classes would be of benefit to you and your dog. |
