I have been teaching people to teach their dogs at Companion Dog Training School since it's beginning in 1982. A Master's Degree in Special Education and 30 years of teaching experience with the Buncombe County Schools has assisted me in bringing a classroom atmosphere to my dog training classes. Over the years my dog family has consisted of a Weimaraner, three Boston Terriers, three Papillons and a Sheltie. I have shown competitively in the U.S. and Canada in the breed ring, obedience ring and on the tracking field, earning multiple titles in each venue. In 1996 I was introduced to agility and have been teaching and showing in that arena ever since. Attending seminars taught by top agility competitors in the U.S. and Europe helps me keep current in this rapidly changing sport and allows me to bring new information to my students. My Papillon, Spinner, and I have earned Agility Championship titles from both the American Kennel Club (MACH) and the United States Dog Agility Association (ADCH). At age 11, Spinner is now sitting back watching my young Sheltie, Quiz, as she begins her career.
